Comments: The UMMC/STC helipad consists of two helipads: Effective 10-26-17, the North pad is primary operations and the South pad is ALZ only. Prior Permission Required via an email to helipad@umm.edu for training activities.
Contact SYSCOM via 44.74 FM or 123.050 VHF at least 10 miles from helipad and prior to takeoff from the helipad.

LZ Information
Location/Description: The UMMC/STC helipad consists of 2 pads - North and South. The North pad is operationals and the South pad is ALZ only. Helipad Lighting: Rotating beacon on main hospital east of North Helipad. Lighted windsocks on the bunker and on high rise building north of helipad. Green LED helipad perimeter lights around NORTH and SOUTH helipad TLOFs.
Hazards: Windshear is possible whenever winds are ≥ 10 kts.; Use of Magnetic Resonance Imager(s) (MRI) at the Shock Trauma Center may interfere with compasses and/or slaved gyros while on either helipad. Pilots are advised to verify the accuracy of their magnetic direction indications by comparing their magnetic directional instruments against a known heading before departure. Instruments should be re-verified before proceeding “on course.”
